The Health Education Programmes’ Section of the Communication and Media Department participated in the Third Arab Conference on Obesity and Physical Activity in Bahrain during 19-21 January 2010.
 
The conference agenda included several important themes like the social, mental, health and physiological factors related to obesity among the different community groups. This is in addition to the factors related to physical activity and exercise, the problems resulting from obesity, and the adequate programmes to curb this phenomenon. The Conference also discussed the necessary educational programmes in connection with obesity, diet and medical intervention.
 
The Conference came out with a number of recommendations, with an emphasis on exchange of information and experiences among the Arab countries in this regard.
