OPENING OF CUBAN HOSPITAL
The Cuban Hospital in Dukhan will be officially opened on Tuesday, 10 January. It is a joint project between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Cuba.
The State of Qatar has built and equipped the Hospital in the most modern fashion. The government of Cuba has taken the responsibility of providing the Hospital with more than 200 highly qualified medical professionals including doctors, nurses and specialists in the fields of rehabilitation, dentistry, pathology, Biomedicine and radiology.
The Cuban Hospital is a modern facility which has not only been designed to meet the present population and workforce requirements, but it has the possibility of expanding to provide more services to future greater numbers. Hence, it represents a focal point to promote the integration of the medical care services with the other activities of prevention and health education to people in the neighboring western areas of Qatar.
The Hospital adopts a policy that aims at providing the highest standard of health services to individuals, besides increasing the job opportunities to Qatari citizens living in that area.
The Hospital out-patient clinics were opened in mid 2011 where they provided laboratory, radiology and pharmacy services.
